Shatta Wale was accused by the Ghana Police Service of spreading falsehood and causing panic

One of Africa’s finest singers, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has been remanded in the Ankaful Maximum Security Prison, in Ghana
Shatta Wale, was recently reported to have been shot by unknown assailants and taken to an undisclosed hospital in the Legon region of Ghana.
The Ghana Police Service, thereafter, confirmed on their Facebook page that they heard about the incident and commenced investigating into the veracity of the claim.
The 37-year-old musician later accused the Ghana Police Service of putting his life at risk, while also narrowing the attack on him to a popular pastor in Ghana.
The Ghana Police Service later arrested the dancehall singer for spreading false information and causing panic on October 20, 2021, and he was charged to court.
On appearance in court, he pleaded not guilty to charges brought against him and the judge remanded him in the prison for a week.
A video of the embattled musician being escorted into the correctional facility later surfaced on social media
Inmates were seen giving him a rousing welcome into the maximum prison, as they hailed and cheered him when he walked past them.
