SERAP demands release of man protesting killings of Borno farmers in Aso Rock

Lagos based human rights and advocacy organisation, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), on Wednesday urged President Muhammadu Buhari to instruct the Department of State Security to without delay, release an activist Malcolm Omirhobo who stage a lone protest against the killing of farmers in Borno State.

SERAP wrote in a tweet: “We urge President Buhari to instruct the DSS to immediately and unconditionally release activist Malcolm Omirhobo, reportedly arrested today at the Presidential Villa gate in Abuja while carrying out a “one-man protest” against the killing of farmers in Borno State.”

The activist who embarked on the one-man protest at the gate of the Presidential Villa Abuja was immediately arrested by the operatives of DSS and his whereabouts unknown.
