A human rights and advocacy organization, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has accused Ministry of Foreign Affairs of paying N600,000,000.00 to three foreign missions – Bamako, Cotonou and Ouagadogou – for repair works without due process and any supporting documents, contrary to Financial Regulations 415.
SERAP, in its official twitter handle on January 6, 2021, stated that the payment was made on September 9, 2016.
According to it, “Ministry of Foreign Affairs reportedly paid N600,000,000.00 on 9th September 2016 to three foreign missions, namely Bamako, Cotonou and Ouagadogou for repair works without due process and any supporting documents, contrary to Financial Regulations 415.”
Responding, Prince Ajibade tweeted, “There are several of these infraction across the various MDA. So sad because at the end of the day nothing will be done to the people that perpetrated these act.”
