A senior Boko Haram operative who heads the terrorist organization in Gwoza has surrendered to Nigerian troops.
The dreaded terrorist, Amir Adamu Rugu Rugu, believes to be the nightmare of civilians and soldiers in Gwoza, reportedly surrendered to Nigerian troops along with his three wives and children.
Rugu Rugu holds the title of Amir, which is the leader of the faithful, a position that puts him in the core of several Boko Haram operations which led to deaths of Nigerian soldiers, civilians and other widescale crimes.
The Daily Trust reports that Rugu Rugu surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The newspaper quoted a resident of Gwoza who said that the surrendered terrorist is well known in the town. “All Praise be to Almighty Allah, the famous Boko Haram, Amir Adamu Rugu Rugu surrendered in today in Gwoza town. Karshen BH yazo insha Allah (the end of Boko Haram has come).”
