Senator Sani pays hospital bills of 40 patients in Kaduna

Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District has paid off the medical bills of 40 patients on admission to Saint Gerard Catholic Hospital, Kaduna.

The human rights activist made the medical assistance public when he paid a get-well visit to patients in the hospital on New Year day, an opportunity he equally used to present gift items to them.

According to Senator Sani, while wishing the patients speedy recovery, “I will use the opportunity of this visit to write off the medical bills of 40 patients in this hospital and also to write off the bills of those that are in the Emergency Ward now. I will work it out with the management of this hospital to see the bills so as to effect immediate payment.”

He further disclosed that he is presently working on a bill that will make the poorest of the poor Nigerians also benefit from the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) because the programme should not only be for workers and the self-employed.

He emphasised that it was imperative for every Nigerians to benefit from any programme of the government without discrimination.
