Both chambers of the National Assembly that resumed plenary on Tuesday after over a month recess in preparation for the Presidential and National Assembly elections which held on February 23 could not form quorum and subsequently adjourned till March 12.

That will be three days after the governorship and state Assembly elections scheduled for March 9.

Members of the Senate who resumed for plenary on Tuesday could not form a quorum and subsequently decided to adjourn few minutes after sitting.

Motion for adjournment till March 12 was moved by the Senate Leader.

Other members voted in his favour and the Senate was accordingly adjourned

The House of Representatives did same.

The Speaker, Mr Yakubu Dogara, entered the chamber, said the opening prayers, and noted that members who turned up were not enough for the proceedings to continue.

Dogara, therefore, adjourned plenary till March 12.
