The senate has passed a bill that will remove the career ceiling for Higher National Diploma (HND) holders.
Once the bill is signed by President Muhammadu Buhari, holders of HND will no longer face stunted career growth in the work place.
The bill also seeks to abolish the dichotomy between the HND certificate and university degree, generically referred to as the Bsc.
The piece of legislation, sponsored by Senator Ayo Akinyelure, passed the third reading on the floor of the Senate at plenary.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on tertiary institutions and TETFUND, Ahmad Kaita, presented his report and all the amended six clauses were approved by the Senate.
