However, while speaking about the players he managed in a recent interview, Scolari claimed Portuguese striker, Ronaldo is not the best footballer he ever coached.
Despite this, he acknowledged that former Man United forward is a special player, adding that he helped him when he managed Portugal.
“When I coached him in the national team, it was clear that he had a lot of quality. We were very successful in our project and he was an important player in that,” Scolari told Arabic outlet winwin, via A Bola.
“I can’t say that Cristiano is the best player I’ve ever coached because I worked with many special players who still play today.”
After Scolari’s comment on Ronaldo made the rounds on the Internet, it elicited mixed reactions among football lovers.
While some netizens agreed with him, others argued that the Saudi Arabia based striker ought to be the best player the Brazilian ever managed.
