Say your last prayer before coming to rig election in Benue, says Ortom

Gov Ortom

Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, has advised those who want to rig election in his state in 2023, should say their last prayer because of the risk involved.

Ortom gave the warning while reacting to the decision of the National Assembly to vote against the electronic transmission of results.

The Benue governor advised President Muhammadu Buhari to decline assent to the Electoral Act until the clause allowing for electronic transmission of results is restored.

He says: “I think as a country we have come of age. We cannot go back to the analogue when the whole world is going digital. Mr President must have a rethink. I want to advise him not to sign the amendment to the Electoral Act without electronic transmission.

“For us here in the state (Benue), we will be fully mobilised, anyone that comes to rig election in 2023, should say his last prayer. You cannot rig where we are in the majority. It is impossible.”
