Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his two major challengers, Labour Party’s governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, Olajide Adediran, better known as Jandor will know their fates on Monday when the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal delivers its verdict on the outcome of the March 18 gubernatorial deletion in the state.

Rhodes-Vivour and Jandor, after the declaration of Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), instituted suits challenging the victory of the incumbent governor at the tribunal.

However, in a statement made available to the political parties on Saturday by Justice Arum Ashom-led panel, the judgement date was fixed for Monday, September, 25.

Prior to this announcement, lawyers in the petitions had adopted their final written addresses before the tribunal on August 12

Incumbent governor and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate at the March 18 governorship election, Sanwo-Olu, won the election declared by INEC by a landslide, defeating Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who came second.

The Lagos State Governor polled 762,134 votes to beat Rhodes-Vivour, who scored 312,329 votes, while Jide Adediran (Jandor) of the PDP came a distant third, polling 62,449 votes.

The outcome of the election was in contrast to the February 25 Presidential election result in Lagos State, where the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi defeated the incumbent president and the candidate of the All Progressives Party, Bola Tinubu.
