Professor ltse Sagay has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to sack those involved in corrupt practices in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) without delay.

Anyone involved in financial wrongdoing in NDDC should be sacked and made to pay heavily says Sagay.

Prof Sagay who is also the chairman of PACAC said on Channels TV program ‘Politics Today,’ that personnel at the NDDC were just looters who shared billions of money belonging  to the people of Niger Delta, insisting that the president should disband them without delay.

“We have sets of officials in that place whose preoccupation is to despoil the people, there is no single development in the area which was meant to look like Abuja.

“God blessed the people and deposited oil and gas in their region, unfortunately they are not seeing any meaningful development, as the people are still poor. It’s a tragedy that people blessed with natural resources don’t have good roads, hospitals, schools and good health facilities they should be proud of, the tragedy being that their sons and daughters put them in such situations.”

Sagay noted that rather than government setting up countless panels, it should bring in fresh brains to turn around the place.

“We have to stop the appointment of old hands to manage the place, new people should be tried and placed under strict guideline for meaningful development in the Niger Delta region,” he said.
