Ruddy Tee

The villager, as he fondly refers to himself, says he plays ‘ogbologbo music’.

Born a twin over three decades ago to a family of seven in the historic city of Ibadan, Oyo State, the strong influence of his sakara drummer father who played with Nigerian musical legends like Ayinla Omowura, Yusuf Olatunji, Razaq Ajao and more rubbed off on him. This was instrumental in his also learning to play the sakara, gangan and conga on which he adds his fluid rap delivery.

Ruddy Tee raps fluently with striking Yoruba jabs, spicing same with proverbs. In his delivery, he dips and dives into proper English and pidgin, drawing from his influences of the great masters of the genre like Ice Cube, Easy-E, Mobdee, Amaru ‘Tupac’ Shakur and Junior & Pretty. His other musical influences include Fela Kuti, Alex O, King Sunday, Ebenezer Obey, Babangani Agba to mention a few.

Constantly found in the studio and on the street grooming his craft and getting inspiration.Ruddy Tee is set to release his debut album ‘Igboro Kanju – Street Of Emergency’ with hit tracks like ‘Hip Hop Hooray Street of Emergency Remix’, ‘Once Upon a Time’ and ‘Happy Day’.

Ruddy headlined on the recent Lagos International Jazz Festival 2015 as an alternative music act, stirring the crowd to frenzy with his dynamic and ebullient stagecraft. In the past, he had collaborated and supported numerous front-line artistes. Ruddy Tee has truly paid his dues and is now set to show his form on the Nigerian music scene.
