Watfords’ new coach, Roy Hodgson, has said Super Eagles’ vice-captain, William Troost-Ekong will be out of action for up to four weeks after picking up an injury.
This is despite being included in the 32 man list for the World Cup playoff against Ghana released on Friday by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
The 74-year-old English tactician said the Nigerian defender sustained a muscle strain.
He made this known while providing an update at the Premier League media briefing on Friday.

Watford, who are 19th in the league table and fighting to escape relegation, have a difficult fixture against London side Arsenal at the Vicarage Road on Sunday.
According to Roy Hodgson, Troost-Ekong could be out for “the foreseeable future”, effectively ruling him out of the 2022 World Cup playoff against Ghana
“It’s a muscle strain for Sarr, the same with Troost-Ekong.
“It’s going to keep them both out of the equation for the foreseeable future, but I don’t know how long exactly.
“It’s not a minor thing, it’s not a knock, both have muscle strains, and that can take anything from a week to four weeks to recover from,” Roy Hodgson said.
