Rotaract: I’ll focus on community welfare, says Bello

The newly installed president of Rotaract, the youth wing of the Rotary Club International District 9110, Egbeda, Lagos, South West Nigeria, Prince Muyideen Kolawole Bello, has said that his regime would embark on people-oriented  projects in his immediate community.

Bello spoke to TheNiche after his installation as the sixth president of the international service organisation on Saturday, August 20, 2016, in Lagos.

Some of the services he will embark on with his team during his two-year tenure include donation of food items and other necessities to orphanage homes; renovation of Rotaract Club of Egbeda Borehole Water Project; donation of mosquito nets and bed spreads to primary health centres; donation of 5000 exercise books, school bags and uniforms to school pupils; donation of first aid boxes to primary schools; and skill acquisition programmes for the youth.

The installation ceremony was preceded with a lecture by the Guest Speaker, Dr. Abiodun Osiyemi, on the topic, “Breaking through during these hard times.”

The event was graced by eminent personalities including Mrs. Kate Aiyenigba, who was Mother of the Day; Mrs. Abimbola Animashaun Abdul (an award recipient), Ambassador Sunny Okim (publisher/editor-in-chief of National News), Hon. Akeem Bello of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Dr. Abiodun Osiyemi (president, Forensic Science Academy), and many others.
