Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has said he is backing the current league leaders, Arsenal to win the English Premier League (EPL) this season, if the Red Devils fail to do so.

Ronaldo made this known during an explosive interview with Piers Morgan on Thursday night, saying he would be happy if the Gunners win the title ahead of other title challengers.

He further admitted that he loves the style of play of the North London club and their coach, and argues they have a very good squad this season.

He said, “Manchester [United] first and if not, Arsenal is some team that I like to see play. I like the team, I like the coach.

“I think they have a good team. If Manchester United don’t win the Premier League, I will be happy if Arsenal do,” Ronaldo said.

Arsenal go into the 2022 World Cup break top of the table, Mikel Arteta’s men have picked up 37 points from their first 14 fixtures, five more than their closest challenger, Manchester City.

Manchester United on the other hand are in the 5th position, 3 points away from Spurs who currently sit in the final Champions League spot, they are, however, 11 points from the Gunners.
