Rodri names Spurs as Man City’s closest title challenger

Rodri also said Spurs have a capable manager in Italian tactician, Antonio Conte and his managerial career speaks for him

Manchester City central midfielder, Rodri, has identified North London club, Tottenham Hotspur, as the team that will pose the greatest challenge to Pep Guardiola’s title ambition this season.

Rodri made the assertion while speaking with Gazzetta dello Sport recently. 

Man City and Tottenham are second and third respectively after seven games on the log table and they are currently on 17 points each, one point behind the league leaders Arsenal.

According to the Spain international, Spurs have put together a very good squad with a very clear vision of what to achieve this season.  

“They have put together a great squad and they have a manager who has very clear ideas and who knows how to convey them perfectly,” Rodri said.  

He went on to say the Lillywhites are contenders for the title because they have a capable manager in Italian tactician, Antonio Conte and his managerial career speaks for him.

He added, “They know what they have to do and they do it with great precision.

“I see Spurs as candidates for the title. Conte’s career speaks for itself.”
