Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers, is eyeing a reunion with Nigerian international, Wilfred Ndidi, at the Scottish club after the duo worked together during the Irishman’s stint in charge of Leicester City.
Rodgers, who was sacked by the former English Premier League (EPL) club in the second half of last season, was on Monday, June 19 announced as Celtic boss for the second time.
According to the Daily Mail, the former Liverpool manager has been handed a bumper transfer budget by the Hoops to compete with the best clubs in Europe this season.
Due to this, he has identified Ndidi as one of his key targets this summer and he is looking at bringing him in as one of his first signings at the club.

The 26-year-old Nigerian is likely to be open to the move to Scotland following Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
The defensive midfielder currently has one year left on his contract with the Foxes.
He moved to the King Power Stadium from Belgian Pro League club, Genk in 2018 following a £17 million deal.
Ndidi was part of the side that won the FA Cup under Rodgers in 2021 and finished fifth in the table twice.
He was also on display for the Super Eagles when they edged past Sierra Leone on Sunday to qualify for the 2023 Africa Nations Cup (AFCON) scheduled to hold in Cote d’Ivoire next year.
