Rivers United qualified for the quarter finals of the CAF competition after a 2-2 draw in their second to the last group game

Nigeria’s Rivers United will face Tanzanian outfit, Young Africans at the quarter finals of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup after the draw for the knockout stages of the competition was held on Wednesday in Egypt.
Stanley Eguma’s side secured a place in the quarter finals of the CAF competition despite playing a 2-2 draw in their second to the last group game at home.
Rivers United eventually finished in the second position in Group B following a 1-0 defeat by ASEC Mimosa on Sunday at the Yamoussoukro Municipal Stadium in their last game.

The draw for the knockout stages of 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup was conducted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) at the headquarters of the football body in Cairo, Egypt
Below are the fixtures and dates of the competition:
Quarter-finals:
US Monastir (Tunisia) vs ASEC Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire)
USM Alger (Algeria) vs Royal Armed Forces (Morocco)
Pyramids (Egypt) vs Marumo Gallants (South Africa)
Rivers United (Nigeria) vs Young Africans (Tanzania)
* Team mentioned first plays at home in the first leg.
The quarter-final fixtures will be played over two legs on April 23 and April 30.
Semi-finals:
Rivers United or Young Africans vs Pyramids or Marumo Gallants
US Monastir or ASEC Abidjan vs USM Alger or Royal Armed Forces
The semi-final fixtures will be played over two legs on May 14 and May 21.
Final:
Rivers United or Young Africans or Pyramids or Marumo Gallants vs US Monastir or ASEC Abidjan or USM Alger or Royal Armed Forces
The final is to be played over two legs on June 4 and 11.
