Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the death of Gibson Reuben, a Dutch national and Managing Director of Rivers State Cassava Project Limited, who drowned while fleeing suspected kidnappers.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, stated on Wednesday that the tragic incident occurred on Monday night when Reuben’s vehicle plunged into the Aleto-Eleme River during the ambush.

“The unknown gunmen ambushed Rueben’s vehicle, forcing him to lose control and plunged the white Toyota Hilux van into the Aleto-Eleme River,” Iringe-Koko explained.
