Rivers CP, Odesanya, passes away

Rivers state Police Commissioner, Mr Francis Mobolaji Odesanya, is dead.

At the time of this report the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, said that he heard the story but was waiting for confirmation from Force headquaters.

Meantime, a Police source  said that the Rivers Police chief died in India where he had gone for medicare. Odesanya assumed office as the 37th Police Commissioner in the state on July 28, 2016, taking over from DIG Folunso Adebanjo who served briefly as Commissioner of Police in the state before his elevation to the rank of DIG. The late Odesanya joined the Police on February 2nd, 1986 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent.
