Super Eagles coach, Finidi George says the length of his contract is not what will keep him on the job but the results he achieve.
The former Super Eagles winger disclosed this during his tour of selected media houses on Tuesday.
The former Enyimba of Aba coach is thus determined to get the results that will keep him as Nigeria’s senior national team head coach.
“What keeps a manager are the results, even if you have a 10-year contract,’ he said.
“Results will keep you on the job and I intend to get that.”
Finidi also believes at least seven players from the domestic league are good enough to play for the Super Eagles.
“Six, seven (NPFL) players can feature for the Super Eagles,’ declared the new Super Eagles coach during his media tour today.
“There are talents in the league who are good enough, we only have to scout properly.”
The former Enyimba coach further said he expects more from the country’s top players in Europe.
“The players are doing so well in Europe and I hope they do same with the Super Eagles,” he said.
“We will motivate them to do what they are doing at their clubs week in, week out.”
Finidi also revealed that he has resigned as Enyimba of Aba coach following his appointment as Super Eagles boss.
“I don’t think it is wise to continue with Enyimba, knowing the level of work needed for them to retain the league title, and at the same time, carry on with the strenuous job of running a quality Super Eagles team.
“I don’t think it will be wise for me handling Enyimba and the Super Eagles at the same time. I am not a superman.”
