The Obi-Datti Media Office has again knocked a former presidential media aide, Reno Omokri, over his most recent claim that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has a hand in the travails of the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
“For the umpteenth time, the Obi-Datti Media office needs to draw the attention of the public to the growing obsession and fixation of the pretentious social media activist, Reno Omokri, with the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi. Like a junkie, in a consuming frenzy, Omokri’s fixation on all things related to Peter Obi borders on pathological neurosis,” a statement on Thursday signed by Diran Onifade said.
“While we understand his need of trying to satisfy his paymasters and also swell his social media relevance by trying to associate himself and his activity with the soaring profile of Obi, he has become ridiculous with his shenanigans.
“Omokri cannot sleep over any negative activity and lawlessness happening in Nigeria until he has concocted Peter Obi to it, always conscious of the dubious mileage he elicits from provoking Obi’s large audience, especially the Obidients while satisfying his paymaster’s proclivities.
“If he is not linking Obi to herdsmen, IPOB, unknown gunmen, and bomb blasts, he is connecting and associating him with all manners of criminality, real and imagined.
“Omokri’s latest ruse is his laughable linkage of the embattled and suspended Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele, whom Omokri glibly suggests that Obi has a hand in his travails. Ironically, Omokri did not say how, where, and when Obi supposedly contributed to the alleged institutional problems confronting the CBN. Maybe Omokri will suggest to security that Obi supplied him with the gun they are charging him for.
“He also did not clarify how Obi contributed to ‘the rotten CBN’ as alluded to by Bola Tinubu and whether Obi was among the beneficiaries of the alleged foreign exchange sharing at the apex bank under Emefiele. He did not even say how Obi would have helped Emefiele in the embarrassing inter-agency fracas on Tuesday in Lagos.”

The media office reminded Omokri that the Labour Party led by Obi was the first to call for the rule of law to be followed when Emefiele was arrested.
The statement continued, “Perhaps soon, Omokri’s fictional and creative imagination will also compel him to link the arrest and the detention of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa to the former Anambra State Governor. Very soon, we will hear Omokri linking Obi to oil bunkering, merely because he spoke up on oil theft.
“Obi-Datti Media office understands Omokri’s insensate ambition to be relevant and the resultant predicament of his joblessness, but wishes to advise him to look for something meaningful to do other than continuously indulging in cheap blackmail. Obi’s steady principled character is obvious that he does not indulge in name-calling as all his utterances are issue-driven.
“We appreciate that discerning minds are not oblivious to Omokri’s dubious motives, but we continue to alert the gullible public to consign his utterances and tweets to the trash where such balderdash rightly belongs.”
