The former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has called on the youths to realize that what they become in future is determined by what they have decided to make of themselves. Obi gave the advice yesterday while speaking to the youths undergoing training at the Peter Akinola  Foundation  at Abeokuta.

Obi, who acknowledged that the country was undergoing hard times, advised the youths to remain focused and utilise any opportunity that comes their way. For those undergoing training, he encouraged them to take the training as an avenue to future greatness.

Obi urged the youths to form what he called “healthy habit of self-examination, hardwork and understanding of those things that make for greatness.”

On the problems facing governance in Nigeria, Obi called for the reduction in the cost of governance at all levels. “Those in authority run into trouble by spending money on frivolities that do not add to the progress of our society”, Obi said.

The proprietor of the centre and the former Primate of the  Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Rev. Peter Akinola,  said the centre decided to invite Obi because over the years he had proved himself as an exemplary leader who has the fear of God.

Other dignitaries that graced the occasion include General Theophilus Danjuma, Chief  Chris Oshonkoye, among others.
