Redknapp urges Arsenal to sign more players, says Jesus, Partey can’t last whole season

Redknapp made the remark following Arsenal’s Premier League 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Saturday

Former Liverpool midfielder, Jamie Redknapp, has advised Arsenal boss, Arteta to sign more players if he wants to lift the Premier League this season.

According to him, players like Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey are prone to injuries and won’t last a whole season.

Redknapp spoke following the Gunners’ impressive Premier League 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Saturday.

In the encounter, Brazilian striker, Jesus didn’t play due to injury, while Partey scored a goal against the host.

Redknapp speaking via Sky Sports after the game said, “They [Arsenal] do [need more players]. He mentioned a player there, I’m a big fan of, Jesus – but can he last a whole season with injuries? The same with Partey.

“He’s an important player in defensive midfield.

“They are talking about getting in Merino who had a really good Euros for Spain, he is a perfect profile for the Premier League, I’m sure that is going to happen.”

Arsenal have been linked to sign both a new striker and a midfielder before the summer transfer window closes.
