Lami Philips has been trending more than any of her hit songs. Dowen College, which she oversees is in the eye of the storm

Singer, Lami Philips, is the daughter of Olumide Philips, owner of Dowen College, the upscale school in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
TheNiche had reported that outrage greeted the news of the death of a 12-year-old boy, Sylvester Oromoni Junior, beaten to death, allegedly, by his own schoolmates at Dowen College.
He died after battling internal injuries sustained from the assault from at least five students, all in SS2 class.
Dowen College had claimed that the injuries were caused by a fall during a football match. But that story failed to convince many due to the mismatch with the injuries on the lad’s body.
TheNiche had also reported that another parent narrated the experience of her son at Dowen College when he was just 10-year-old in 2013.
According to the woman, identified as Nikky Ufondu, her son complained bitterly about the Dowen College bullies, whom he accused of robbing him of his money, provisions and other belongings.
Nigerians have been wondering who the owner of Dowen College is after several reports showed that the school has been notorious for concealing bullying and shielding bullies.
The owner of Dowen College is Dr Olumide Phillips, his daughter is a singer, Lami Philips.
According to livetimesng, Olumide Philips is a former employee of Dunlop Nigeria and Gulf Oil Nigeria
According to reports in the media, Lami is one of the board members of Dowen College, the Director of Students and External Affairs.
Nigerians have been reacting since the news broke that Lami Philips is a part-owner of Dowen College.
