QWQ 2022: Cape Verde sees off Liberia in Monrovia

The completion of the Group C of the African qualifiers for the Qatar 2020 took a dramatic change as hitherto second-placed team Liberia were shocked on home soil by visiting Cape Verde on Thursday.

The visitors came from a goal down to win 2-1.

The match in Monrovia kicked off about an hour 30 minutes before that of Nigeria and the Central African Republic.

Liberia open scoring in the third minute of added time in the first half through Van-Dave Harmon

Cape Verde levelled up in the second half through midfielder, Jamiro Monterio in the 52nd minute.

The game appeared destined for a draw before Gary Rodriguez scored the winner in the second minute of added time after 90 minute regulation time
