In a seeming continuation of Wednesday’s protest against poor electricity supply in Warri metropolis by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), more women, children and youths, on Thursday, April 21, 2016, took to major streets of Warri to denounce what they called “the untold hardship they are going through.”
The disenchanted women began their protest march from Ogboru through Obahor and Eboh streets through Ginuwa junction down to BEDC office in Warri-Sapele road.
Armed with leaves and banners with varying inscriptions, the raucous protesters said that the lack of power supply in recent times in the metropolis has virtually destroyed their businesses.
As of the time of filing this report, the protesters were headed to the office of BEDC to register their displeasure while anti-riot policemen were seen taking strategic positions to avert hoodlums from hijacking the situation.
