Protest rocks Enugu over Mbaka’s disappearance

Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka, Founder, Adoration Ministry, Enugu

The people of Enugu State are currently on the streets protesting the disappearance in the last two days of the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministries, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka.

The protest is already taking violent form as the abode of the Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Valentine Onaga, was vandalized by the rampaging protesters who accused the Bishop of luring out Mbaka for a meeting leading to his disappearance.

The reported disappearance of Mbaka coincides with a report of the State Security Service (SSS) accusing some elements of working with religious and ethnic leaders to overthrow the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The SSS has said that it is not involved in the disappearance of Mbaka.

Reports from Enugu State indicate that operatives of the Eastern Security Network were seen patrolling in their branded vehicles.

The heightened tension has started creating fears for non-indigenes. One of them told TheNiche that he may have to move his family out of the state immediately.
