Ahead of the nationwide promotion examinations, the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi has warned officers against all forms of malpractices with a further directive that they sign an undertaking not to undermine the integrity of the process.
According to a circular signed by the CGC, the examination which is an integral part of the career progression of all officers is an important milestone in the organizational calendar and participation is a legitimate obligation for every officer.
Adeniyi said that valuable lessons have been learnt from previous exercises to make the 2024 exercise efficient. He announced that the service will deploy state-of-the-art infrastructure and a team of capable officials to oversee the process in ensuring that only those who truly merit the promotion get it .
” I assure you that we have implemented comprehensive measures to conduct this exercise with the highest degree of transparency.We have also emplaced certain safeguards to manage our observed vulnerabilities”
” I encourage all officers and men to place their trust in this process.Our commitment is to merit-based system where only those that demonstrate outstanding performance will progress to the next rank.Your faith in the integrity of this process is crucial for maintaining the high standards of our service ”
” I must stress that there will be zero tolerance for misconduct.I therefore implore all participants to adhere strictly to the examination rules.You must resist any temptation to indulge in, entertain or patronize any attempts to co.promise the integrity of this process,” he wrote.
