The projects executed by the Provost, Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu have been described as homogonous and gargantuan and a delight to behold.
A former Secretary to the State Government and Enyi Abia, Mazi Donatus Okorie, who inspected completed and ongoing projects in the college, commended the Provost of the College, Dr Philip Nto, for turning the fortunes of the college for the better from the very first day he assumed duties as the Provost in 2016.
According to him, while the glory of the massive projects go to God, he poured encomium on the Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, for finding an accomplished academic a fit and proper person to head the College, which he described as citadel of academic excellence.
He remarked that so far, the Provost has proved that his choice was not misplaced having taken the college to an enviable level of excellence and urged him to remain focused and not rest on his oars with a view to sustaining the tempo and momentum of his commendable efforts.
The former Secretary to the State Government further stated that there was no doubt that the uncommon transformation observed in the college has so far stabilized the institution, which has positioned it to be an institution that would be reckoned with in the Comity of Colleges of Education in the country and beyond.
Okorie also pointed out that given the level of infrastructural development the College is positioned as a veritable citadel of academic excellence as a school of first choice for prospective students who have the aspiration to further their education more so as the College is affiliated to two foremost universities in the state.
Responding, the Provost of the college, Dr Philip Nto, a finance expert, expressed appreciation to Okorie who was a past Chairman of the College Governing Council and described his remarks as motivating even as he pledged to do more to position the college on a higher pedestal over and above other Colleges of Education in the country.
He however credited the achievements so far recorded on the support his administration has received from the Governor, Dr Okezihe Ikpeazu, who does not interfere in the running of the college.
