Private jet owners to state preference

Aviation authorities have given 90 days’ ultimatum to private jet owners to come up with their operational preference.

The ultimatum was given by Aviation Ministry Permanent Secretary, Mohammed Abass, at a meeting between the officials of the ministry and stakeholders.

The meeting lifted the blanket ban on the operators of foreign registered privately operated aircraft with conditions attached.

Within the deadline, private jet owners are expected to regularise their documentation and specify choice of operation.

No private jet owner is allowed to convert it to commercial purposes, and any violation will incur stiffer penalties.

Private jet owners sometimes convert them to commercial operations, in competition with companies registered for such purposes.
