President Jonathan in a crucial meeting with Jega and service chiefs

President Goodluck Jonathan, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Attahiru Jega and service chiefs are currently meeting at the State House in Abuja.

 

It was gathered that the meeting was convened to know the levels of preparations by the INEC and the security agencies for the 2015 general elections.

The INEC boss, in particular, is expected to update the national security council on the commission’s preparation for the elections.

 

The meeting, which commenced at 11.20am, is being attended by Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Anyim Pius Anyim, Chief of Staff to the President General Jones Arogbofa (rtd.), National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki, Minister of Justice Mohammed Bello Adoke, Interior Minister Aba Moro, Foreign Affairs Minister Aminu Wali, Police Affairs Minister Jelili Adesiyan,the service chiefs in attendance are Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, Inspector-General of Police Suleiman Abba as well as the heads of the Department of State Security and the National Intelligence Agency.
