Nigeria’s Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has commiserated with victims of the Potiskum fire in Yobe State, which destroyed properties worth millions of naira on Monday.
Lawan expressed sadness over the incident that left many shops razed and some people injured.
In a statement by his Special Adviser (Media), Ola Awoniyi,
the Senate president prayed for the quick recovery of the injured persons and called for public support for those whose means of livelihood were destroyed by the fire disaster.
Lawan also commiserated with the people and the state government over the incident, while calling on the state authorities to investigate the cause of the fire with a view to averting the recurrence of the disaster.
