Flavour disclosed this in a now-viral post, where he shared an old video of him playing a guitar to serenade his father

Nigerian music star, Chinedu Okoli, better known as Flavour, has lost his father, Elder Onyemaechi Okoli.
The singer broke the sad news on Wednesday via his X (formerly Twitter) handle.
In the now-viral post, the ‘Her Excellency’ crooner shared an old video of him playing guitar to serenade his father.
In an accompanying caption, Flavour wrote: “My father, Ijele’s (his nickname) father, rest well. God gave and God has taken.”

He, however, did not disclose the cause of death or the date of his passing.
Meanwhile, condolence messages have been pouring in from fans and colleagues of the singer via the comment section of the post.
The family has yet to announce the funeral plans for the deceased.
Flavour began his music career at the age of 13, playing the drums for his church choir.
In 2005, he released his debut album ‘N’abania’ through Obaino Music.
Since then, he has released seven other albums namely ‘Uplifted’ (2010), ‘Blessed’ (2012), and ‘Thankful’ (2014).
Others include ‘Ijele The Traveler’ (2017), ‘Awele’ (2018) and ‘African Royalty’, ‘Flavour of Africa’ (2020).
