The Chairman, Niger State Squash Association (NSSA), Usman Mohammed Babujee, has appealed to sports lovers, Squash players in particular to be patient with the Governor Abubarkar Sani Bello-led administration.
He said that the administration was doing everything possible to improve on facilities in the state.
The chairman’s appeal is coming against the backdrop of near collapse of the Squash Court along David Mark road, Minna due to years of abandonment and the implications if nothing was done urgently to avert endangering the lives of state players using the facility daily.
The Squash Court along David Mark road, the only visible facility available for Squash players in Niger State, attracted the attention of stakeholders who see the structure not only as eyesore but overdue for the attention especially with the roof and ceiling fast caving in.
But the chairman in an interview after the event marking the 2019 World Squash Day last weekend in Minna, the state capital, said that it was wrong for anyone to insinuate that Governor Bello mismanaged huge sums on trivialities instead of investing same to improving dilapidated sport facilities.
