Nigerians on Twitter are already sketching the criteria for the eligibility of the politician that deserve their votes ahead of the 2023 election.
The ban on Twitter has lingered for two weeks, with users resorting to Virtual Private Network (VPN) to access the App. The down side of the VPN is that it increases data consumption and runs down battery faster.
Nigerians still using the App have been expressing their anger in different ways. One of the ways is that any politician who comply with the ban shouldn’t be eligible for their votes in the 2023 election.
@vheewhy says: “Any presidential aspirant that is obeying #TwitterBan doesn’t deserve our votes.”
@FS_Yusuf_tweets: “Obeying the #TwitterBan is not diplomacy but complicity to the suppression of fundamental rights. I’m not sorry, any presidential candidate obeying the ban will not allow democracy flourish if given opportunity. These are the parameters we should be considering while making decisions.”
@FadaunsiAdeniyi adds: “Atiku obeying the #TwitterBan shows he doesn’t see the ban as an infringement on our fundamental human right to freedom of expression, consequently he’s not fit to be elected the President of Nigeria.
Atiku has resumed tweeting after staying away from the App in the first week of the ban.
