Activist Agba Jalingo on Friday raised an alarm that policemen surrounded his residence in Lagos State.

The publisher shared photos of the incident on Facebook alleging they were policemen in mufti.

Mr Jalingo said his wife and daughter were held hostage by the policemen on the floor of his residence.

“I don’t know who sent the police but they have held my wife and my daughter hostage downstairs. I don’t feel safe. Those are their faces.

“Policemen are still surrounding my house in Lagos. I still don’t know what brought them here. My wife and daughter are held hostage,” Jalingo said.

Jalingo alleged that the policemen were sent from Abuja, adding that they were allegedly sent by Franko Ayade, the brother of Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade.

“I have information that the police were sent from Abuja and the command CP is aware. I don’t know what I have done again but I am afraid for my life.

“They are sent by Franko Ayade. They are trying to force their way in right now,” the publisher of Crossriverwatch posted.

Jalingo has had a long-running battle with Cross River State Government after he published an article demanding accountability for public funds earmarked for a bank project which was not delivered by Ayade.
