Lagos Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, has said his command is reviewing the alleged threats against Igbo by the chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo.
The Lagos police chief made this known when he appeared on Arise Television’s Newsday program on Friday, March 17.
Oluomo had, in viral videos, threatened Igbo in Lagos who will not vote for his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, to stay at home during tomorrow’s governorship and House of Assembly elections.

He said: “We have begged them. If they don’t want to vote for us, it is not a fight. Tell them, mama Chukwudi, if you don’t want to vote for us, sit down at home,”
Reacting to the threat, Owohunwa said the video clips are being reviewed and the threats are being investigated.
He said: “Yes, I can confirm that all the video clips are being reviewed. The statement, the assertions, the threats are subjects of ongoing investigation.
“And as we proceed, if facts are established against the provision of the law, nobody is above the law in this country.
“Our existence is regulated by law and we are bound together by law. The political process is regulated by law and nobody can be above that.”
The Police commissioner also promised that MC Oluomo will be prosecuted if the said threats against Igbo are proven.
“So if these allegations are established, you can be sure that appropriate criminal and legal proceedings will be initiated against the specific actors,” Owohunwa added.
