The Katsina State Police Command has paraded Murtala Umar, a health worker who treats bandits, especially those with gunshot wounds.
But the health worker claims the terrorists leave him no choice other than cooperate with them because they come to him with guns.
The 34-year-old runs a patent medicine store in Tashar Yar Alewa in Danmusa local government area of the state, which is one of the communities worst hit by bandits.
Neighbours started suspecting him because he has never been a victim of kidnapping, something many of them have experienced.
He told journalists during his parade to the media the reason he was always never kidnapped.
He said: “I studied at the College of Health and Technology in Kankia but I have not been working. The bandits usually come to my shop to seek my assistance which I oblige and they pay me accordingly.
“I regret my actions now and I will never do that again,” he said.
The police also paraded an alleged notorious bandit, Ibrahim Sama’ila.
The suspected bandit said to journalists: “I’m a bandit. It is not an allegation. I engage in cattle rustling, kidnapping, I also steal. So, this is not an allegation. But I am now regretting. That is how Allah destined it to be,” he said.
