Police Inspector in trouble for firing several shots of AK47 in celebration of Ladipo Market’s reopening

Hundeyin revealed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa has requested for the swift launch of disciplinary actions against Inspector Istifanus Kwanchi.

The Lagos State Police Command has disclosed that the officer who was seen in a viral video shooting in the air at Ladipo Market in Mushin has been identified.

This was made known in a statement issued by the Lagos Force Spokesperson, Ben Hundeyin on X, formerly Twitter on Wednesday, October 18.

“The Lagos State Police Command has identified the person in a viral video shown shooting an AK47 rifle in Ladipo Market as Inspector Istifanus Kwanchi, serving in a Lagos squadron of the Mobile Police (MOPOL),” Hundeyin posted.

Hundeyin also revealed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa has requested for the swift launch of disciplinary actions against Inspector Istifanus Kwanchi.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has ordered the immediate commencement of disciplinary proceedings against the officer for his unprofessional, unethical and dangerous behavior.”

He assured the general public that the Command will not tolerate any form of deviant behavior from its officers and men, stressing that those found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with laid down rules
