Benue State Police Command has confirmed the collapse of Dunamis church located at Mission Ward North Bank in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday morning when the resident pastor and three other pastors of the church were observing prayers, killed at least one pastor
However, while the wreckage from the collapsed church trapped and killed the pastor, three of his colleagues were lucky to escape unhurt.

Speaking on the development, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Benue State Police Command, Anene Sewuese Catherine, confirmed the death of the pastor.
She said: “Only one person has been confirmed dead for now”
She also said police operatives from the C Division, North Bank, Makurdi, went to the scene of the collapsed building to maintain law and order and help in the rescue operations.
The incident comes after the collapse of a building comprising over 500 rooms in the Ketu axis of Lagos State about two weeks ago.
The cause of the collapse was attributed to a heavy downpour, although no loss of life was recorded, the injured persons were taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
