By Ishaya Ibrahim

Men of the Nigeria Police Force are dispersing #RevolutionNow protesters by the using violence in a scale unprecedented in Nigeria’s democracy.

From pepper spray to live ammunition, the Police are deploying every equipment at their disposal against the protesters.

There are several Images of the brutality on the social media. Some Journalist who were covering the protest were rounded up and thrown into a cage-like black-maria. They are Victor Olugbenro and Nichola Kalu.

Olugbenro was arrested in Lagos, while Kalu, The Nation Correspondent in Calabar, Cross River State, was arrested at the venue of the Calabar protest.

The Lagos protesters had gathered at the premises of the National Stadium, the venue of the Lagos protest. The Police, however, barricade the gate with Hilux vehicles and heavily armed mobile policemen to prevent the angry Nigerians from accessing the main-bowl.

Not satisfied by the number of the protesters milling around, the policemen started firing gunshots at the unarmed party who scampered for safety. They also arrested many of them at the scene and herded them in a waiting black maria.
