Two neighbours have been arraigned before a Grade 1 Area Court for allegedly fighting in public.

The neighbours, a 34-year-old businesswoman, Oju Onuke, and 37-year old civil servant, Mrs Osakwe Chininende, fought in public over waste bin disposal.

The Prosecutor, John Okpa, said the defendants, who are neighbours, reside at Maryson Street, Byazhin, Kubwa, got into a fight over trash bins in the compound.

Okpa said the defendants who bit each other, constituted a nuisance and disturbed the peace.

He added that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 113 of the Penal Code.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.

The Judge, Mr Muhammad Adamu, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N50, 000 each with one surety each in like sum.

Adamu ordered that the sureties must be the husbands to the defendants and resident within the court’s jurisdiction.

He adjourned the case to September 18 for hearing.(NAN)
