Police arraign 25 year-old man for alleged theft of baby

Solomon Omole, 25, has appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a baby.

Inspector Bankole Olasunkanmi, the prosecutor, said Omole and others, who are on the run, stole the baby from one Baba Sunday, on January 22, 2020, at about 2:00 pm.

The prosecutor said the offence was in contravention of Section 371 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.

The prosecutor asked for a short adjournment to allow him assembles his witnesses.

Barrister Chris Omokahfe, a lawyer for Omole, prayed the court to grant his client bail.

Adedayo Oyebanji, the Chief Magistrate,  granted the defendant bail in the sum of N30,000 with a surety in like sum.

He said the surety must be civil  servant on at least  Grade Level 7 and must have proof of ownership of landed property.
