Pinnick receives vote of confidence

The Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has passed a solid vote of confidence on the leadership of Amaju Melvin Pinnick.

At a meeting of the Committee in Uyo on Wednesday afternoon, member Chris Green moved the motion, saying the wealth of great ideas, capacity and drive of the NFF President would surely lead Nigeria football to new heights.

He said: “You have brought so much on board since you came in, along the lines of capacity building, practical and positive approach to issues and a commitment to doing things differently. The entire Board is proud of your leadership style.

“As we go forward, we believe that the ideas and your passionate commitment and drive will take Nigeria football to heights never previously attained.”

His motion was seconded by Dilichukwu Onyedinma and received thunderous applause from all the members.

Meanwhile, the board has formally ratified the appointment of Dr. Mohammed Sanusi as the General Secretary of the Federation.

Pinnick presented Sanusi before the executive board for formal endorsement. The former NFF Director of Competitions, who had been appointed following the resignation of Barrister Musa Amadu on March 18, was unanimously endorsed.

Also the sitting president of Nigeria Colleges of Education Games Association and a member of several local and international bodies on sports management, Sanusi has tremendous experience in sports administration through active roles in FIFA World Youth Championship Nigeria 1999, Ghana/Nigeria 2000 and 2003 All-Africa Games organizing committees, and had been in charge of NFF’s Competitions Department for the past eight years.
