Popular British broadcaster, Piers Morgan has said Arsenal have no chance of winning a trophy this season with Kai Havertz as their main striker.

He made his feelings known via a post he shared on his X handle, while slamming the Gunners following their FA Cup third round defeat to Manchester United on Sunday night.

Arsenal were defeated 5-3 through penalty shoot-out after the matches had ended 1-1 after 120 minutes at the Emirates Stadium.

Bruno Fernandes gave the visitors the lead in the 52nd minute before Diogo Dalot saw red nine minutes later.

Gabriel Magalhães equalised almost immediately for Arsenal. But despite playing nearly an hour against 10 men, the Gunners were unable to score again

Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard missed a penalty during the 90 minutes, while Diogo Dalot was sent off for a second yellow.

The hosts registered 26 shots in total, with Havertz guilty of two bad misses. He was also the only player to fail in the shootout, as Altay Bayindir saved his spot-kick to give Joshua Zirkzee the chance to win the game and moved on to the fourth-round.

Reacting to the loss, Piers Morgan, who is a die-hard fan of the North London club, said Arsenal were ‘pathetic’ on the night.

He went on to wonder how they lost to a team that played with 10 men for a large part of the encounter.

“Pathetic, Arsenal. How can you lose at home to a team that has 10 men for that long?

“So long as Havertz is our main striker, we have zero chance of winning any big trophies.

“He was abysmal today. If Arteta doesn’t buy big this window, including a top striker, our season is over.” the controversial journalist tweeted.
