Peterside, Omatseye, nine others form group for Blue Economy

Dr Dakuku Peterside and Barrister Temisan Omatseye, former Chief Executive Officers of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), and nine others have come together to form a private-sector coordinating group for the blue economy.

According to a press release signed by Suleiman Adama the new group billed for inauguration on July 1 via zoom private sector driven initiative out to bring the Blue Economy Advocacy to the front burner of government and the organized private sector.

The group to be inaugurated by Peterside, an immediate past Director General of NIMASA is being chaired by Lami Tumaka , a Public Relations and Communication expert who also retired as a Director in NIMASA.

Other members include HRH Alhaji Munir Ja’afaru, OFR, mni, (Madakin Zazzau), Jean Chiazor Anishere, SAN, ;Commodore Daniel Atakpa of Nigerian Navy; Senator Grace Folashade Bent; Mr. Ojiji Oniri Onya ; Alhaji Dikko Tahir Bala; Chief Michael Onuoha and Suleiman Adama, serving as Secretary to

“Members of the Group are expected to use their individual and collective wealth of experience, both in government and the corporate world to move the Blue Economy sector forward through the promotion of dialogue, strategic partnerships, capacity building in maritime policy/law, infrastructure development, community inclusiveness, environmental management and related challenges” the release stated
