Peter Okoye, Shehu Sani mourn late comic actor, Mr Ibu

Peter Okoye while grieving over the  death of the Nollywood actor on his X handle said, “Rest well Mr Ibu. We will definitely miss you!#RIP.”

Ace Afrobeats singer and one of P-Square music duo, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has taken to social media to mourn the demise of veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu.

TheNiche had earlier reported that Mr Ibu passed away at Evercare Hospital in Lagos State after a protracted battle with illness.

He died at the age of 62 after complications arising from the ailment which led to the amputation of one of his legs.

Reacting to the news of his death, Peter Okoye, in a post shared on his X handle, said the late thespian will be missed.

Speaking via his page, he tweeted, “Rest well Mr Ibu. We will definitely miss you!#RIP.”

Similarly, popular human rights activist and former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, took to his social media page to describe Mr Ibu’s death as a great loss to Nigeria and the entertainment industry.

He also eulogised the unique talent of the “distinguished artist’, saying he brought smiles to the faces of a lot of his fans. 

He wrote: “The news of the passing away of the comic Actor Mr Ibu is sad and unfortunate. A distinguished artist who made us laugh, smile and lightened up our lives with his unique talent and humorous creativity. For decades,he has been a delightful spice in our homes and hearts. A great loss to our country and the entertainment industry. May his soul rest in peace.”
