Veteran thespian, Pete Edochie after keeping mum for a while, has finally spoken up on the decision of his son and Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie to marry a second wife.

Yul, who is the last child of the ace actor, sent social media into a frenzy in April this year, when he disclosed he has a son with another woman.

The movie producer who prior to this, had 4 kids with his first wife, May Edochie, went on to name popular Nollywood actress, Judy Austin, as his second wife.

He wrote on Instagram, “It’s time for the world to meet my son. His name is STAR DIKE MUNACHIMSO YUL-EDOCHIE. Born by my second wife @judyaustin1 And I love him so much, just as much as I love my other children,”

However, speaking in a recent interview with Vanguard, his father, Pete Edochie said despite not subscribing to the idea of marrying two wives, his son was old enough to take his decisions.

He went on to say although polygamy stands against his principles, he would not fault Yul because Solomon in the Bible remained a wise king even though he had numerous wives and concubines.

Pete said, “I didn’t feel good, but as I said I’m a Christian and I read the Bible. Solomon, with 700 wives and 300 concubines, was branded a man of wisdom. it’s his choice and for whatever reason, he decided to take a second wife, that’s all I can say.”
