Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter, Tobechukwu Victor Okoh batter known as Peruzzi has sent tongues wagging on social media after revealing ace singer, David Adeleke aka Davido once paid for his services with his “used clothes”.
He made this known recently while featuring as a guest on skit maker IsBaeU’s show.
It all started when Peruzzi, who a lot of netizens alleged wrote many of Davido’s songs was asked if he collects “used clothes” as payments for songs he wrote for the ‘Electricity’ crooner by the host.
Although the songwriter appeared taken aback by the question initially, he eventually concurred that he indeed used to be rewarded for his gesture that way.
He, however, added that all that changed after the DMW boss paid him a huge amount of money on one occasion.
Speaking in pidgin english during the interview, Peruzzi said: “I’m not going to lie to you, I dey run am like that before but e get one time wey I run am, he just give me some type bars so I just stop that p.”
After the clip made its way to the internet, it elicited a series of interesting comments from Nigerians who trooped to the comment section to air their views.
An internet user identified as Ifeoma8983 wrote: “Anyone that know davido should tell him to be very careful about this man and thousands of his friends.”
Another netizen, Superzeal_ said: “Normally e no get who no Dey use style collect him chairman clothes change ownership. Just pure love from the heart.”
